Wow! We are able to complete this Great commission in our lifetime!

Slingshot has swung into action and our hearts and minds have been flying along trying to keep up with all that we see and hear. It has been such an incredible time of inspiration as a result of the passion seen in the lives of some of the world leaders within YWAM. The same qualities seem to be apparent within the people God uses the most. He honours humble men and women who PERSEVERENTLY seek Him with all their hearts and minds - Heb 11:6  It is impossible to please God without faith ... He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

 

 Last week fed off the zeal of a very special man named David Hamilton (YWAM vice president of strategic innovation). He truly inspires a passion for God’s Word. Reading the bible over and over again is just so integral to us drawing nearer to Him and learning more of Who our Father is. Did you know it only takes 24 hours to read the entire new testament and only 84 hours to read the entire bible?  That’s 12 hours a day for a week when reading at a steady pace out loud. Most Church going Christians who have been attending church for years have never read the whole bible.

 It is so exciting to get a peak at quite a comprehensive outline of all that is happening in terms of missions innovation. David together with Youngshin Kim (One of the Slingshot leaders, not sure of her title however she seems to have her fingers in everything, quite a remarkable lady from South Korea) have developed a form of literary innovation called Uniscript. This new literacy tool has the ability to teach an illiterate person to read and write their own language within 24HOURS!!!!! That means a once illiterate individual, can within 24Hours pick up a bible written in Uniscript and begin reading with relative fluency!!! Uniscript has already been adapted to 6 languages including Mandarin. It obviously has the potential to dramatically reduce the time taken to form new written languages for unreached people groups! Mind blowing I KNOW!!! 

These are just a few of the things we have had insight into and if I relayed it all to you now, this would look like a book rather than a blog.

This Great commission can be accomplished in our generation! Let’s put our shoulders to the wheel.
